Stranger Things Season 4 Adds Robert Englund & More To Cast

As production continues for Netflix’s Stranger Things, the streamer has announced eight new cast additions for the upcoming fourth season of the hit sci-fi series. Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund has been tapped for a recurring role with Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great) signing on as series regulars. Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), Mason Dye (Bosch), Nikola Djuricko (Legends) and Game of Thrones alum Tom Wlaschiha have also been cast for recurring roles.

The official character descriptions for the new cast members are listed below which also give us more insight into what to expect in the next season:

– Jamie Campbell Bower is set to play the role of Peter Ballard, a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. Tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day, will Peter finally take a stand?

-Eduardo Franco will be playing the role of Jonathan’s new best friend named Argyle, a fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza.

-Joseph Quinn is set for the role of The Hellfire Club’s leader, Eddie Munson, an audacious 80’s metalhead who runs Hawkins High’s official D&D club. Hated by those who don’t understand him — and beloved by those who do — Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.

-Robert Englund is playing the role of Victor Creel, a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.

-Sherman Augustus will portray Lt. Colonel Sullivan, an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all.

-Mason Dye’s character is Jason Carver, a handsome and rich sports star who is dating the most popular girl in school. But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, Jason’s perfect world begins to unravel.

-Nikola Djuricko’s character Yuri is a seedy and unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter.

-Tom Wlaschiha will play Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Dmitri is smart, cunning, and charming… but can he be trusted?

Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special Debuts December 4 On Apple TV+

Apple TV+ and Mariah Carey announced today that the holidays will officially arrive with an epic production titled Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, set to debut globally Friday, December 4, on Apple TV+.

Carey has invited a special lineup of guest superstars including Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris, all to take part in this one-of-a-kind holiday event. Extra special appearances are also made by Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Faced with a holiday cheer crisis, the North Pole knows there’s only one person who can save the day: Santa’s great friend, Mariah Carey. Combining musical performances, dynamic dancing and groundbreaking animation, the undisputed Queen of Christmas jumps into action to create a holiday spectacular to make the whole world merry.

The soundtrack single and new music video for Oh Santa!, co-written by and featuring Carey performing with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson, will be will be distributed by Sony Music and released on Apple Music and other streaming platforms December 4. 

The companion soundtrack to the special is full of brand new interpretations, and will also include Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri as additional musical guests, in addition to a new version of “Sleigh Ride.” The soundtrack will be available December 4 exclusively on Apple Music, and all other platforms on December 11.

Simon & Schuster To Publish Somebody Feed Phil: The People, Stories, And Recipes By Phil Rosenthal In 2022

Simon & Schuster will publish a cookbook from Phil Rosenthal, titled “Somebody Feed Phil: The People, Stories, and Recipes,” in 2022.

“The fans have demanded this book and I can’t take the yelling,” adds Rosenthal. “It will be the next best thing to me putting you in a suitcase and taking you with me.” 

Justin Schwartz, vice president and executive editor at Simon & Schuster, acquired North American rights from Brandi Bowles of United Talent Agency. “As soon as I saw ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ on Netflix, I knew I had to publish the tie-in cookbook,” said Schwartz. “Whether he’s dining in a four-star restaurant with a world-class chef or eating live octopus in a fish market, Phil Rosenthal makes you want to be there with him, laughing together all the way through the meal. He’s like the adventurous foodie uncle I never had, but really wish I did. 

The book will tell never-heard-before stories and include behind-the-scenes photos, not to mention feature recipes for all the most delicious dishes, making it a must-have companion for fans. 

Rosenthal’s unscripted Netflix series, “Somebody Feed Phil,” is currently in its fourth season.

Coming 2 America To Launch On Amazon Prime On March 5, 2021

Coming 2 America, the sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy, has landed on a date to come to audiences. The film which reunites Murphy and Arsenio Hall will debut on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2021, Amazon Studios said Friday.

Originally a Paramount Pictures theatrical release, the studio sold the film to the streamer last month but had yet to finalize a date.

“Coming to America was a cultural phenomenon that is one of the most loved and celebrated comedies of all time,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, in a statement. “We know audiences around the world will fall in love with this hilarious, joyful movie that will surely become a timeless favorite.”

James Earl Jones, Shari Headley and John Amos will also be reprising their roles alongside new additions like Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan and KiKi Layne.

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Robert Rodriguez’s We Can Be Heroes. 

When alien invaders kidnap Earth’s superheroes, their children must team up and learn to work together if they want to save their parents and the world.

Watch The Godmothered Trailer

Disney+ has released the official trailer for their newest holiday fantasy comedy film titled Godmothered, featuring Jillian Bell as she tries to be the perfect fairy godmother to Isla Fisher’s character Mackenzie. The film will be available for streaming on Friday, December 4. 

Set at Christmas time, Godmothered is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.

The film stars Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs a Marathon) and Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic). It will also feature Santiago Cabrera, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jane Curtin, June Squibb, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Willa Skye, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Stephnie Weir.

Godmothered is directed by Sharon McGuire (Bridget Jones’s Diary) from a screenplay co-written by Kari Granlund and Melissa Stack. It is produced by Justin Springer (Dumbo), Diane L. Sabatini (Lady and the Tramp), Tom Pollock (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) and Amie Karp (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) served as executive producers.

Wonder Woman 1984 Heading To HBO Max & Theaters December 25

With a second wave of COVID-19 impacting many parts of the globe, Wonder Woman 1984 is changing its course yet again.

Warner Bros. announced Wednesday that the tentpole is all but giving up on a traditional theatrical release and will instead open in whatever cinemas remain open on Dec. 25 as well as stream on HBO Max that day.

Wonder Woman 1984 reunites director Patty Jenkins with star Gal Gadot, and is a follow-up to the 2017 blockbuster that earned $821.8 million at the worldwide global box office.

The sequel has seen its theatrical release date delayed several times amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Originally, it was supposed to open in June. Most recently, the plan was for a full-blown global theatrical rollout on Dec. 25.

Watch The High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special Trailer

Today, Disney+ released the trailer for “High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special,” which premieres Friday, December 11 on the streaming service.

Watch The Justice League: Director’s Cut Teaser Trailer

HBO Max has revealed a new trailer for the hotly-anticipated Zack Snyder’s Justice League, featuring new footage from the re-assembled original vision of the film!

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will reportedly cost around $70 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects of the director’s original vision, as well as the additional photography which Snyder has confirmed will include 4-to-5 minutes of newly-shot scenes. The original post-production crew is also expected to return along with the cast members to record additional dialogue for the cut. 

It was revealed at DC FanDome that the movie will release on HBO Max in 2021 by being broken up into four one-hour parts that will also be released as one four-hour film.

Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League, which features a screenplay from Chris Terrio from a story by Snyder and Terrio, stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, with J.K. Conan O’Brien Departing TBS Late-Night Show For New HBO Max Variety Series

After an extraordinary 28 years as a late night television host including a ten-year, critically-acclaimed run on TBS, Conan O’Brien will extend his relationship with WarnerMedia with a brand new, weekly variety series on HBO Max.  As one of the most prolific late-night hosts, O’Brien will conclude TBS’ award-winning nightly talk show “CONAN” at the end of its tenth season in June 2021. His signature travel specials, “Conan Without Borders,” will continue. 

“In 1993 Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform.’ I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription,” says O’Brien.
