Watch The New Trailer For Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

A new teaser trailer for Jam City’s upcoming role-playing mobile game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, has been released, providing a detailed look into the gameplay players can expect when they get their hands on this new game.

The trailer reveals glimpses of how you can create your own personalized student avatar, the Hogwarts sorting ceremony, and a look inside the four house common rooms. You’ll also notice familiar characters pop up in the trailer, such as Hagrid, Professor Sprout, Professor Dumbledore, and Professor Flitwick. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is set in the 1980s, so don’t be surprised when Ron’s older brother, Bill Weasley, makes an appearance alongside plenty of new, original faces as well.

Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City, says: “We are grateful to the fans who have made Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery one of the most anticipated mobile games of 2018. We’re thrilled to open Google pre-registration and share a new sneak peek at how this game will let fans create their own character and enter Hogwarts as a student for the first time.”

Pre-registered users on Google Play will be notified first when the game launches. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery was created by mobile games studio Jam City in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under the new games label Portkey Games. The game is set in the time between Harry Potter’s birth and his enrollment at Hogwarts, when Nymphadora Tonks and Bill Weasley were students. The avatar customization system allows you to continually upgrade your avatar as you gain new expertise and magical skills – you can even choose your own pet. You will join one of the four Houses before progressing through your years at Hogwarts, participating in magical classes and activities such as Potions and Transfiguration. Building your skills will come in handy as you solve mysteries and go on adventures. As players improve their skills, they will unlock new locations, spells and other magical abilities.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery features both large plot arcs and smaller stories such as relationship quests. The game features a new encounter system in which player’s decisions in both actions and narrative impact their quests, and how other characters regard and interact with them. These choices will allow Harry Potter fans to create the legacy of the witch or wizard they want to become.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is slated for release later this year on the App Store and Google Play.

Experience Wizarding School With New Mobile Game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Game developers Jam City have announced that next year they’ll be releasing a story-driven mobile narrative role-playing game, in which players can attend our favorite wizarding school Hogwarts as a student.

It’s called Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and it’s the first mobile game in which players can create their own character and experience life as a student. Once you’ve settled into the school, your character can move through the years while doing all the same things Hogwarts students do: taking part in Duelling Club, for example, or going to classes such as Potions and Defence Against the Dark Arts. There’ll be faces you recognize, too, with many subjects taught by Professors you may already know and love (or know and dislike, depending on who they are…).

The game has been created by Los Angeles-based mobile games studio Jam City, and will be part of the Portkey Games label from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – you can read more about Portkey here.

You can rest assured that when it comes to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the clever tech bods at Jam City know the wizarding world like the backs of their hands. ‘As Harry Potter fanatics ourselves, we have great respect for the millions of people throughout the world who have followed the Harry Potter stories for more than 20 years,’ says Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. ‘This game is a labour of love for our developers and artists, who are dedicated to creating the most magical entertainment and game play experience for everyone who adores J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.’

Adds David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment: ‘It is great to work with Jam City on the game, as the company has a proven track record of bringing rich, beloved worlds to players of mobile entertainment.’

The new Hogwarts terms start in September, but all we know at the moment is that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available at some point next year.

So, for more details on the game – which is for mobile devices via the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore – go to the new Twitter or check out the game’s website.

Microsoft Announces Xbox One X

Sunday marked a milestone Xbox E3 Briefing as Microsoft Corp. unveiled the world’s most powerful console, Xbox One X (formerly code-named “Project Scorpio”) and its largest and most diverse games lineup in E3 history. Broadcast for the first time in 4K UHD on Mixer, Xbox showcased a record 42 games in its briefing including 22 with console exclusivity from creators large and small. Coming to all Xbox One markets starting Nov. 7, Xbox One X will retail for $499.

Xbox One X was designed to be the best console to create and play games on, putting the greatest graphic fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators to create true 4K games. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer underscored that every game will play great across the Xbox One family, and Xbox One X also makes your existing library even better, with better textures, smoother frame rates and faster load times.

Xbox One is the only console system designed to play the best games of the past, present and future. The Xbox One games and accessories you already own are compatible with Xbox One X, so if you’re an Xbox gamer, chances are you already have a library of games that will look and play better on Xbox One X.

Spencer announced that Xbox will expand the Xbox One backward-compatibility library of nearly 400 popular Xbox 360 games to include original Xbox classics, starting with fan favorite “Crimson Skies.” Xbox also revealed that “Gears of War 4,” “Forza Horizon 3,” “Minecraft,” “Resident Evil 7,” “Final Fantasy 15,” “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” “Rocket League” and dozens of other popular Xbox One games will receive free updates to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. A host of these titles will be enhanced to run in true 4K, and many will be available at Xbox One X launch.

Space Invaders Arcade Cabinet Backpack

1

ThinkGeek is featuring an officially licensed Space Invaders Arcade Cabinet Backpack ($49.99) that provides a retro way of storing all of your small, medium, and large alien invaders. The water resistant backpack features an “invader design on zippers, silicone arcade cabinet buttons and an insert quarter hole,” and more.

As fun as carrying around an entire arcade cabinet on your back is, we decided to do something a lot more practical… and also something that will raise fewer eyebrows. We made one of the most iconic arcade games of all time into a backpack. A backpack that holds all the fancy things you need to beat back the increasingly speedy invaders, or just the stuff that you need to take notes in class or carry your stuff around. Whichever. That’s the glory of it! You’re prepared for all occasions!

Hold all the necessities to keep an invading alien army at bay with the Space Invaders Arcade Cabinet Backpack. Plenty of pockets and sleeves to hold all your pew pew laser ammo for taking down small, large, and medium enemies. It also holds regular people stuff, too, for when you’re taking some time off, hiding behind the bases at the bottom of the screen. Added bonus – you can stick your finger in the quarter slot! That is not a euphemism.

Super Mario Run To Be Released On December 15, 2016

1

Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Run will be available on iPhone and iPad on December 15, 2016. The mobile title can be downloaded at no cost originally, allowing players the chance to try all three game modes for free, with a one time payment of $9.99 offering unlimited access to each of the modes.

“The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”

Super Mario Run is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later. Starting on Dec. 15, the game will launch in 151 countries and regions. Super Mario Run supports English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese language options.

Super Mario Run is the first Super Mario Bros. game developed specifically for mobile devices. In the game, Mario runs forward on his own, but relies on the tap of a single finger to jump over obstacles, avoid enemies, pull off stylish moves, collect coins and reach the flagpole to complete courses. Another mode for the game has players compete against the acrobatic moves of other people who have completed the same course. In addition, there is a mode in which you create your own Mushroom Kingdom based upon these play results.

Super Mario Run represents the next phase of Nintendo’s expansion to mobile platforms, following the release of Miitomo earlier this year. After the launch of Super Mario Run in December, Nintendo plans to deliver its previously-announced mobile device titles in the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem series before the end of March, 2017.
