Gotham Season 5 Will Be The Series’ Last

FOX announced it has given the green light to Gotham Season 5 and also revealed it will the series’ last season. “The fifth and final season will wrap up this unique origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, which revealed an entirely new chapter that has never been told,” FOX said in a statement.

Although the network has not announced how many episodes the fifth season will have, it is believed to be a shorter, 13-episode season which would take the show to the 100-episode mark needed for syndication. The final season will focus on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the caped crusader.

The show’s Season 4 finale is set to air on May 17 and is titled “A Dark Knight: No Man’s Land.” The episode is described as follows: “Jeremiah warns a skeptical Gordon of more destruction coming Gotham’s way, and Gordon is forced to make a potentially devastating decision. Meanwhile, Barbara rallies together a team to secure her position, as alliances in the underworld shift and prove no one can be trusted. Then, Bruce is forced to come to terms with the future.”

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean/Solomon Grundy, Alexander Siddig as Ra’s Ah Ghul, and Crystal Reed as Sofia Falcone.

Gotham is based upon DC characters and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and John Stephens serve as executive producers on the series.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (DC Modern Classics) Hardcover

DC introduces DC Modern Classics, collecting groundbreaking, genre-defining works in new hardcover editions, presented in a beautifully designed slipcase.

Frank Miller’s undisputed masterwork of a broken-down, veteran crime fighter trying to bring Gotham City back from the brink of destruction. It is ten years after an aging Batman has retired and Gotham City has sunk deeper into decadence and lawlessness. Now as his city needs him most, the Dark Knight returns in a blaze of glory.

Joined by Carrie Kelly, a teenage female Robin, Batman takes to the streets to end the threat of the mutant gangs that have overrun the city. And after facing off against his two greatest enemies, the Joker and Two-Face for the final time, Batman finds himself in mortal combat with his former ally, Superman, in a battle that only one of them will survive. This collection is hailed as a comics masterpiece and was responsible for the launch of the Batman movies.

This 200 page volume collects Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #1-4. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (DC Modern Classics) will go on sale December 5, 2018 and retail for $49.99.
