Unlock new ways to play with BB-8 and train yourself in the ways of the Jedi with sounds, vibrations, and LED lights built right into the band.
The Force Band is compatible with BB-8 by Sphero, the adorable Droid that brought the magic of Star Wars: The Force Awakens into your home. Fulfill your destiny and become a Jedi Master. May the Force will be with you…always.
Sphero has yet to name a specific price and the Force Band will be released in the fall of 2016.
The 2016 New York Toy Fair kicks off this weekend and it may just be showcasing a dream come true for any Star Wars the Force Awakens fan. Many fans quickly purchased their own little BB-8 toy last year by the toy maker Sphero but may have wished that their droid friend was more true to the original.
This weekend company Spin Master will reveal their own version of the famous droid BB-8. Their droid will be over 16-inches tall, remote controlled and for the first time respond to your voice commands.
This BB-8 toy will respond when you say its name, roll over to you when you call it and even has a Follow Me mode so he can always be by your side. This BB-8 will also come with lights and authentic sound effects from the movie.
Unfortunately we won’t see this collectible toy out in the market until later this Fall and he will also cost you $180.
This is the Droid you’re looking for. Meet BB-8 the app-enabled Droid that’s as authentic as it is advanced. BB-8 has something unlike any other robot – an adaptive personality that changes as you play. Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands. Set it to patrol and watch your Droid explore autonomously, make up your own adventure and guide BB-8 yourself, or create and view holographic recordings.
Sphero’s BB-8 is controllable with a Star Wars-themed smartphone app and the help of a Wi-Fi signal. It responds to simple directional inputs as well as pre-set commands. The company took care to breathe life into the toy, having it emit the chirps and squeaks that make Star Wars‘ droids feel somehow alive. It comes with a recharging dock and gets about an hour of play time on a three hour charge. BB-8’s software is updatable via the app, meaning the company can add new features over time.
