Watch The Teaser Trailer For El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

Netflix officially revealed the teaser trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie during the Emmy Awards.

Written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is described as follows: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.” Emmy winner Aaron Paul will reprise his role as Jesse Pinkman for the film, calling it “a chapter of Breaking Bad” that he didn’t realize he wanted.

The Emmy Award-winning series aired on AMC before seasons were later made available on Netflix. Vince Gilligan credited the streamer for its contribution to the show’s success in his 2013 Emmy acceptance speech, saying that he thinks Netflix helped keep the show on the air.

AMC’s Breaking Bad ended its critically acclaimed five-season run with a finale that brought in a series record 10.3 million viewers. It was followed by the prequel series Better Call Saul, focused on Bob Odenkirk’s small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill, which just got renewed for a fifth season.

The film will be available for streaming on October 11, exclusively on Netflix.

Revisit Jesse Pinkman’s Breaking Bad Journey In All New Recap

Netflix is kicking off their Breaking Bad rewatch campaign with a video recap featuring anthemic music by the Grammy nominated duo, Chloe X Halle.

Using the 1950’s doo-wop tune “Enchanted,” made famous by The Platters, the piece revisits the many painful, soul crushing moments Jesse (Aaron Paul) has gone through over the course of the five seasons of Breaking Bad… all those moments lead up to where we last see him in the final episode. The song choice is particularly special to Jesse since it’s the same music that plays when he tries Heroin for the first time with his now deceased girlfriend Jane (played Krysten Ritter).

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is written and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. The Netflix Television Event follows fugitive Jesse Pinkman (Paul) as he runs from his captors, the law and his past. The movie is produced by Gilligan, Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Charles Newirth, Diane Mercer and Paul, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

A Breaking Bad Movie Is In The Works

Series creator Vince Gilligan is working on a two-hour movie based on his beloved Emmy-winning AMC drama, Breaking Bad.

It’s not yet clear if the project is for television or theaters nor do we know if the original cast will return, however both series stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have stated in interviews that they would love to return to their roles.

For the few that have not watched the exceptional show, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter H. White, played by Bryan Cranston, a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, with the aim of securing his family’s financial future before he dies.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, which first reported the news, production is scheduled to start later this month in New Mexico under the title Greenbrier, and is said to “follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom” — suggesting it might focus on Jesse Pinkman (Paul) following the events in the Breaking Bad series finale, which aired in 2013.
