HBO Renews Curb Your Enthusiasm For An Eleventh Season

After being revived in 2017 and giving the network two hit seasons, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm created by and starring Larry David is set to return at HBO for an eleventh season!

Originally debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 100 episodes to date, Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Seinfeld co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The series’ ten-episode tenth season debuted January 19, 2020 and brought back series veterans including Susie Essman (Broad City), Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs), Emmy nominee Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), Richard Lewis (Anything But Love), J.B. Smoove (The Millers) and Emmy winner Ted Danson (The Good Place).

“Believe me, I’m as upset about this as you are,” David said in a statement. “One day I can only hope that HBO will come to their senses and grant me the cancellation I so richly deserve.”

Watch The Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 10 Trailer

Larry David is back – as Larry David – stumbling through one faux-pas after another in an all-new season of the award-winning, hit comedy series.

As candid, unsparing and outrageous as ever, Curb Your Enthusiasm revolves around a fictionalized, gleefully misanthropic version of David as a ubiquitous camera chronicles the private, often banal world of this (relatively) public man. The series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life – a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush – can precipitate a chain of misfortune to hilarious effect. To keep the narrative spontaneous, the series is shot without a script and cast members are given scene outlines and often improvise lines as they go.

Returning series regulars include Emmy nominee Larry David (“Seinfeld”), Susie Essman (“Broad City”), Jeff Garlin (“The Goldbergs”), Emmy nominee Cheryl Hines (“Suburgatory”), Richard Lewis (“Anything But Love”) and JB Smoove (“The Millers”).

Curb Your Enthusiasm returns for its tenth season Sunday, January 19 at 10:30PM.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Renewed For Tenth Season At HBO

The long-awaited return of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm came this year with the ninth season finale airing earlier this month on HBO. Now, the premium cable network has announced the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning comedy series will return to HBO for its tenth season. Unlike the six-year gap between the eighth and ninth seasons, there will not be an extended hiatus for the next season as production on the new episodes will begin in the spring.

“We are thrilled that Larry will be back with his uniquely acerbic wit and comedic sensibility,” said Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming.

Adds Larry David, “As I’ve said many times, when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so.”

Curb Your Enthusiasm has just received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (Larry David) and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 90 episodes to date, Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Seinfeld co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life.

Season nine brought back series veterans Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.

Curb Your Enthusiasm To Return To HBO For Ninth Season

1

Curb Your Enthusiasm is going to return to HBO for a long-long-long awaited ninth season, HBO revealed Tuesday. Star and executive producer Larry David has had an open invitation to continue the comedy series on the premium network. The previous season of the show aired in 2011.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said HBO programming president Casey Bloys. Added David: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

Interest in a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has remained consistent online, but it spiked last week after costar J.B. Smoove was quoted in an interview as saying he had spoken to David about a possible season 9. David has also been in the spotlight lately thanks to his uncanny resemblance and impression of Sen. Bernie Sanders, and has been repeatedly made guest appearances on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

Curb is HBO’s longest-running scripted series, with 80 episodes to date. The series also performed strong in the ratings, with the eighth season debut to a series-high 2.1 million viewers. There’s no word yet when the season 9 will air.
