Inspired by the 1984 DC story arc from Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on April 18, 2017.

The landmark Teen Titans story will be available on Blu-ray™ Deluxe Giftset ($39.99 SRP), Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) and DVD ($19.98 SRP) starting April 18, 2017.  The Blu-rayTM Combo Pack includes the movie in high definition on Blu-ray Disc, a DVD, and a digital version of the movie on Digital HD with UltraViolet. Led by Starfire, the Teen Titans – Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Robin and the just-returned Nightwing – have built a cohesive team in their never-ending battle against evil; but their newest teammate, the mysterious and powerful Terra, may be altering that dynamic. Meanwhile, an ancient evil, Brother Blood, has awakened, and familiar foe Deathstroke is lurking in the shadows – both waiting to pounce. Ultimately, the Teen Titans will need to battle their enemies and their own doubts to unite and overcome the malicious forces around them in this twisting tale of intrigue, adventure and deception.

Christina Ricci (Zelda, Sleepy Hollow, The Addams Family) and the late Miguel Ferrer (NCIS: Los Angeles, RoboCop, Crossing Jordan) join the already established Teen Titans voice cast as Terra and Deathstroke, respectively. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place, The Fosters) as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy, Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb, Legion of Superheroes) as Starfire, and Stuart Allan (Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood) as Robin/Damian. Gregg Henry (Scandal, The Killing, Payback) voices the villainous Brother Blood.

The voice cast also includes Maria Canals-Barrera (Wizards of Waverly Place) as Jaime’s mother, Meg Foster (They Live) as Mother Mayhem, Crispin Freeman (Justice League Action, Batman: Arkham games) as Speedy,  Masasa Moyo (Young Justice) as Bumblebee, David Zayas (Gotham, Dexter) as Jaime’s father, Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as Kid Flash, and Kevin Smith (Clerks, Geeking Out) as … himself.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is directed by Sam Liu (Batman: The Killing Joke) from a screenplay by Ernie Altbacker (Justice League Dark). Sam Register is Executive Producer; James Tucker (Batman Bad Blood, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders) is Supervising Producer; and Alan Burnett (Justice League vs. Teen Titans) is co-Producer.

“Teen Titans: The Judas Contract pays homage to one of the truly legendary story arcs in DC’s Teen Titan series, one that fans have been requesting for years, so we are excited to release a film that should surpass their expectations,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. DC Entertainment Announces New Slate of Hanna-Barbera Titles

The classic Hanna-Barbera characters are back in a big way. As revealed by Entertainment Weekly, DC will launch a new line of comics dedicated to the classic characters, featuring titles like “Scooby Apocalypse,” “Future Quest,” “Wacky Racers,” “The Flintstones,” and possibly others. The creators involved include Amanda Conner (“The Flintstones”), “Mad Max: Fury Road” designer Mark Sexton (“Wacky Raceland”), Jeff Parker, Jim Lee and Howard Porter.

DC co-publisher Dan DiDio told EW that he “was always a fan of the old Hanna-Barbera characters, having grown up on them. I think what you find right now is there’s so much material on pop culture, and these characters resonate with so much of our fanbase. It was so fun to go out and look at them, but not just bring back versions that existed 40, 50 years ago and really look at it the way of saying, if these characters were created and interpreted today, how would they exist? So we handed off our materials to a number of top creators, and what came back was an exciting look that felt very true to the existence of the characters.”

Details are still forthcoming about the line, including the final lineup of titles and creators involved. As revealed by DiDio on Twitter, the line will include:

– The Flintstones by Amanda Conner and written by Mark Russell
– Wacky Racers by Mark Sexton and Ken Pontac
– Future Quest, starring the Hanna-Barbera action heroes (including Space Ghost and Johnny Quest) by Jeff Parker and Evan “Doc” Shaner
– Scooby Apocalypse from Jim Lee, Keith Giffen and Howard Porter

Lee and DiDio refer to “Scooby Apocalypse” as the “crown jewel” of the line. “I’m a huge Scooby Doo fan, as I think most people are,” said Lee. “I mean, look at these iconic series and they were cultural touchstones for everyone. All my kids know of Scooby Doo from the various cartoons and live action movies, and we’re in a period where you have people my age that are spending their days thinking about cartoon and sci-fi action movies. It’s a multigenerational obsession at this point, and we just thought it would just be really interesting to take the cartoon version of these characters and see where they would be if we took what existed in the very first iteration of the cartoon and moved it into this day and age.”

A Look At 5 DC Entertainment Television Shows In Development

DC Entertainment currently has five television shows in development. While some of them are based on well-known DC characters, a few focus on characters that are a bit more obscure. However, they all have their roots in serialized comics. Let’s take a look at them…

The Flash

We’ll be seeing The Flash on the small screen on December 4, 2013 in the first of two back-to-back episodes of Arrow.

Featuring actor Grant Gustin as everyone’s favorite Central City forensic scientist, this debut will make the new Flash series currently in development for The CW something of a spinoff.

This highly anticipated new series currently in development for Fox is a prequel of sorts set in Gotham and focusing on the origin of Commissioner James Gordon and other characters and villains found within the Batman universe. While set within his world, Batman won’t be a part of the show. It seems very possible that the series will pull from the Jim Gordon sequences in Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli’s seminal Batman: Year One.

The character of John Constantine was first introduced in the pages of Swamp Thing before spinning off into his own Vertigo series (Hellblazer, which wrapped up its 300-issue run earlier this year and remains Vertigo’s longest running series) and eventually his own ongoing series in The New 52. He’s also no stranger to the screen, having previously appeared in a 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves.

A con man who dabbles in sorcery and the supernatural, Constantine is a gritty character who’s about as far on the magic-using spectrum from Harry Potter and Gandalf as you can get. Currently in development for NBC, the Constantine series will hopefully get a chance to show off the darker side of DC Comics characters this fall.

Yes, we’re diving into much less familiar waters of the DC Universe with this one, but that’s what makes it so intriguing. The character of Hourman stems all the way back to 1940, and has appeared in a variety of forms and under a variety of names since then. In this show being developed for The CW, Hourman is a pharmaceutical analyst who possesses the ability to glimpse tragic events from exactly one hour into the future, and makes it his mission to do what he can to stop these events from happening.

Hourman doesn’t have a self-titled series, but among other things, he’s known for being a part of the Justice Society of America.

Based on a quirky Vertigo series by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, iZombie promises to be a lot different than the other zombie shows and movies out there should it make it to series. Currently in development for The CW, with a pilot script being written by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, iZombie tells the story of a young female coroner who helps solve homicide cases. The catch? She’s also a zombie who must consume brains to maintain her humanity, and every time she does, she inherits the corpse’s memories.

A Batman panel featuring this “dynamic duo” and creators such as John Layman, Ann Nocenti, Peter Tomasi and James Tynion IV will be a convention highlight.
