Extraordinary: Stan Lee Event To Be Held At The Saban Theatre On August 22, 2017

Heavyweights of the comic book world and the elite of the entertainment industry will gather together on August 22nd at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles for a once-in-a-lifetime tribute to the world’s most iconic creator, Stan Lee. Unlike career-focused tributes, Extraordinary: Stan Lee will take a nostalgic and sentimental look at the life of this icon through a wide-angle lens in the vein of “This Is Your Life”.

Celebrity guests will be on hand to give thanks through retrospective segments highlighting different periods in Mr. Lee’s life. The tribute provides a unique opportunity for stories to come to light of how Stan Lee has influenced, touched and inspired lives and creative endeavors.

“Back when I started writing, I never could have dreamed that someday these little characters I thought up would connect with so many people in so many places, let alone on the silver screen…I’m just floored,” said Mr. Lee. “I’m so lucky to have such great friends and supportive fans who continue to inspire me and have kept me going.”

Tickets for Extraordinary: Stan Lee live at the Saban Theatre (1,800 seats) will be available through Ticketmaster starting at $95.00 for general seats to $350.00 for VIP seats and meet & greet. The ceremony will also be streamed live to movie theater venues across the country (tickets will go on sale in July), allowing real-time access for fans outside of Los Angeles to share this truly extraordinary experience. In-Theater Live and Agents of Mayhem are producing the tribute event in partnership with Stan Lee Collectibles.

Stan Lee Is Getting A Tony Stark-Style Bash For His 95th Birthday Celebration

Few figures in comics have a legacy quite like Stan Lee‘s. Alongside Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and John Romita, Lee co-created almost all of Marvel’s biggest heroes, including Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, and the X-Men. Lee is a true living legend, and this year, he’s going to get his due.

On July 18th, Legion M and fans from around the world are coming together to celebrate Lee’s 95th birthday, his 78th year in the comic book industry, and the 70th anniversary of his wedding to Joan Lee. To mark the occasion, there’s an epic party starting at 11 am at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood, where Lee will make an impression of his handprints in cement that will be placed alongside Hollywood luminaries from the past and present.

Check out the poster for the event, which will also be available as a limited edition.

The poster was designed by Bryan Morton (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Paul Shipper (Doctor Strange). It’s a terrific image that features Lee doing his best Spider-Man impression, and it really captures his spirit. But this is just the beginning of Lee’s big day. We are thrilled to exclusively announce that Legion M is also putting on a massive afterparty for Lee in the Hollywood Hills at a 9,000 square foot mansion fit for Iron Man himself. It’s already been dubbed the Stark Mansion Bash, and it’s going to be a semiformal event that will feature performers, professional cosplayers, and even the chance to participate in a massive group photo with Lee and the rest of the guests.

To learn how you can participate in this event, check out Legion M’s official page.

Marvel Comics Legend Stan Lee To Put Handprints-Footprints In Cement At TLC Chinese Theater On July 18, 2017

On July 18, and on the eve of San Diego Comic-Con, the iconic creator and force behind Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, will put his handprints and footprints in cement in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX. Presented by Legion M, ICON: Celebrating Stan Lee, is the first ever handprint-footprints ceremony in TCL history to be organized and hosted by the fans.

“Stan Lee gave us the heroes that fueled our imagination and aspirations” said Kevin Smith, Filmmaker, Actor, Writer, Comedian and Stan Lee Fan.

”Now, WE, the fans, are coming together to give this permanent monument and tribute to the man that gave us so much.”

Stan Lee, the chief creative force behind the rise of Marvel Comics, brought to life some of the world’s most famous heroes and infamous villains, including Spider-Man, The Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, The Avengers, Loki, and Dr. Doom. His stories featured heroes and villains that were more psychologically complex than had ever been seen previously, inspiring legions of fans.

According to his autobiography, Excelsior, “Lee put the human in the superhuman.” Lee’s connection to fans immediately led him to Legion M’s unique model of being the first fan-owned entertainment company, and he has been supportive of Legion M since its launch in 2016. Legion M embodies the fan culture that Lee’s work launched, perpetuating a legacy that has impacted generations. By organizing and rallying the fans, celebrities, companies and anyone who has been positively impacted by Lee’s work, Legion M is paying a heartfelt, historic and overdue tribute to one of the greatest storytellers of our time.

“On behalf of Stan Lee and Stan Lee Collectibles, we’re deeply moved and appreciative of the groundswell of fan support Stan has always enjoyed, and we’re grateful that his fans have united together with Legion M to give him this great honor,” says Stan Lee Collectibles CEO Max Anderson.

As a producer, writer, editor, publisher, actor, host and executive, and idol to many, Stan ‘the Man’ Lee has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry having created or co-created 90% of Marvel’s most recognized characters. These creations have spawned books, films, television series, video games, web series, Broadway shows and more offering a steady stream of box office.

In 2017, Stan will celebrate his 95th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary, along with the 78th anniversary of the day he first started as an assistant filling inkwells at Timely Comics – now Marvel Comics – which over a lifetime of work he helped turn into one of the biggest media brands in the world.

Fans are invited to get involved, attend the event (and after party), pay tribute to Stan, take home a piece of history and more by visiting https://thelegionm.com/celebrating-stan-lee.

Computers don’t make movies. People do: the artists, editors, animators, and technical directors. People are the life behind everything that gets created at Pixar. While animated films are technically complex to make, they each begin with the simplicity of putting pencil to paper.
Many people don’t realize that Pixar has almost as many artists working in traditional media-hand drawing, painting, pastels, sculpture-as they do in digital media. Most of their work takes place during the development of a project, when they are working out the story and the look of the film. The wealth of beautiful art created for each movie is rarely seen outside the studio, and the finished film sent around the world would never be possible without it.

Pixar believes that a film is a contract between the filmmaker and the audience. The filmmaker offers an imagined world; the public interprets the creation. With just the right amount of realism, a film becomes perfectly believable. This belief hinges on the consistent application of the rules of the filmic world. These rules are explored and defined through concept art formats, including character studies, background paintings and color scripts just to name a few. The result is a world both new and recognizable; fictitious yet intuitively real.
The Pixar Art Collection is the first time a coordinated assortment of Pixar concept art has been released, celebrating each milestone film release in Pixar’s history. The pieces were hand-picked by a select team at Pixar and represent a wide range of media, from marker to pastels to digital creation.

The Collection is a love letter to Pixar and to Pixar’s fans – to each of us who found adventure, soared through space, changed our fate and renounced capes forever. To infinity and beyond!
