Gallery 1988 Announces Versus, An Art Show Featuring Tom Whalen & Dave Perillo

Tom Whalen’s and Dave Perillo’s newest art show Versus will feature pop culture rivalries. The show will open this Friday, June 8th at 7PM at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. There are close to 50 sets of prints and each set of prints comes in an edition of 40.

Gallery 1988 Announces Cuyler Smith’s Trading Cards 3 Art Show Opening On May 18, 2018

One of Gallery 1988’s most highly anticipated shows of the year opens tomorrow night (May 18, 2018) from 7-9 PM at G1988. It’s the return of Cuyler Smith’s Trading Cards show! The collection of new actual cards for this third annual exhibit is better than ever. As these limited edition cards mostly sell out, the gallery is encouraging collectors to attend the opening reception.

Cuyler will be in attendance to unveil his new cards paying tribute to fictitious pop culture athletes, and selling a limited edition pack – with a special card only available in this format – and if you buy the whole series.

Sew/Cute – A Two Person Art Show Featuring Jerrod Maruyama & Oh Sew Nerdy To Open At Gallery 1988 On March 23

Jerrod Maruyama has teamed up with Oh Sew Nerdy for his very first Two-Person art show opening at Gallery 1988 March 23rd! The opening reception will take place on Friday March 23rd from 7:00 -9:00 PM. Both artists will be at the gallery that night to kick off this super-fun exhibition.

Jerrod has been waiting a long time to showcase some exciting properties such as The Breakfast Club, Ghostbusters and Stranger Things.

There will be a very limited number of prints available for each image and framed pieces will also be available for purchase. Plus there will be a giveaway with each purchase to the first few customers on opening night!

Oh Sew Nerdy will be bringing his unique combination of cross-stitch and pop culture goodness. He’s got a bunch of one-of-a-kind pieces that are just so clever and ready to hang!

The show will be on display in the gallery through April 14th.

Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles has announced a Fake Theme Parks Art Show that will open on January 12, 2018. The show is curated by Chogrin and will feature art from 50 artists from all over the world.

The exhibition will pay tribute to theme parks that only exist in movies, television and video games! The show will run until January 27, 2018.

CRAZY4CULT 11 To Open At Gallery 1988 On November 17, 2017

Join Gallery 1988 for the 11th annual CRAZY4CULT exhibit, originally the first art show to ever celebrate cult films. Almost 200 artists will participate this year, contributing paintings, prints, plush and sculptures inspired by films like Bladerunner, Little Shop of Horrors, What We Do In The Shadows, Beetlejuice, Wizard of Oz and many, many more.

The opening reception, your first chance to buy work, will be tonight from 7-10 at 7308 Melrose Ave. The work will then become available the following day at gallery1988.com. This show will be on display through December 3rd.
