Darth Vader And Friends By Jeffrey Brown

Jeffrey Brown’s Eisner Award-winning, New York Times bestselling Darth Vader series will release its fourth installment on April 28, 2015. Darth Vader and Friends continues Brown’s successful reimagining of the Star Wars story with Darth Vader parenting his twins, Luke and Leia. This installment explores Friendship in all its forms in the galaxy far, far away.

In this funny and sweet new 64 page hardcover book, Brown offers an intimate look at the friendships between best pals in the Star Wars universe, from Darth Vader and the Emperor to Leia and her Ewok pals, Han and Chewie, C-3PO and R2-D2, the bounty hunters, and other favorite characters. Jealousy, birthday parties, lightsaber battles, sharing, intergalactic rebellion and more all come into play as Brown’s charming illustrations and humor irresistibly combine the adventures of our friends in a galaxy far, far away with everyday events closer to home.

Brown’s sweet take on the Star Wars story has been a success with hardcore Star Wars fans, who love all the deep geek nods he includes in his illustrations. Parents love how he incorporates everyday parenting challenges and accomplishments with a sci-fi twist. Comics fans, who have followed Jeffrey’s work for decades laud his ability to bring an indie sensibility to the Star Wars universe.

Goodnight Darth Vader By Jeffrey Brown

It’s  bedtime in the Star Wars universe and Darth Vader’s parenting skills are being tested anew in this delightful follow-up to the breakout New York Times Bestsellers Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess.

Vader may be ready for his kids to go to sleep, but his twins, Luke and Leia, want a bedtime story first–one that involves the aliens, heroes, villains, and monsters of their world. From Han Solo and Chewbacca to Boba Fett and baby Ewoks, from the wampa ice creature to Jawas, all of the galaxy’s denizens are getting ready for a night’s rest in this delightful story told in verse, with plenty of nods to the rich Star Wars narrative.

Goodnight Darth Vader continues to charm Star Wars fans, and, once again, reminds parents that the experience of parenting is universal, even in a galaxy far, far away…

While Goodnight Darth Vader by Jeffrey Brown ($14.95) is an August 2014 publication, the book will debut at Comic-Con International in San Diego the week of July 21st.

This 64 page book differs slightly from the first two as it has a running narrative in the form of a bedtime story that Vader is sharing with his children.
