The Hub TV network will premiere the all-new, action-packed series “The Aquabats! Super Show!”  from the co-creator of “Yo Gabba Gabba!” on Saturday, March 3 (1 p.m. ET, with encore performances throughout the week). The outrageous new series follows a popular alternative rock band as they embark on a never-ending quest to right wrongs, destroy boredom and seek justice for all in an inventive blend of live-action and animated crime-fighting spoofs.

Executive Producer Christian Jacobs (co-creator, writer, and director of “Yo Gabba Gabba!”) is the band’s lead vocalist and plays the team’s fearless leader, The MC Bat Commander.  Also in the cast are fellow founding member and bassist Chad Larson (aka Crash McLarson), keyboards and sax player James Briggs (aka Jimmy the Robot), drummer Ricky Falomir (aka Ricky Fitness) and the most recent member of the band, guitarist Ian Fowles (Eagle “Bones” Falconhawk).

Since their debut in 1994, the Orange County, California-based band has won over legions of music fans with their music and are well known fixtures at music festivals including Coachella and South by Southwest (SXSW).  The band has released five full-length studio albums including their latest, award-nominated “Hi-Five Soup” and has toured internationally.

Jimmy Kimmel Live – YouTube Challenge – I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present

Jimmy Kimmel asked parents to gift children something early, film them opening it and again, upload the results. The catch: the gift has to be terrible. Parents got to work and wrapped all kinds of horrible things for their excited kids including a battery, an onion, a half-eaten PBJ sandwich, a Waffle House hat and more. The children’s confused (and sometimes angry) reactions are hilarious.

iPad Tops 2011 Holiday Wish List For Kids

As Black Friday and the holiday season approaches, Apple appears to be the consumer electronics brand to beat. A recent Nielsen survey shows kids’ holiday gaming and electronics appetites are hungry for a number of top-selling Apple devices – with the iPad leading the pack.

Consistent with U.S. kids’ 2010 wish lists, the Apple iPad is the most desired consumer electronic among kids ages 6-12 for holiday 2011. In fact, the iPad increases its stronghold, with nearly half (44%) of kids expressing interest in the product, up from 31 percent in 2010. Two other popular Apple devices – iPod Touch (30%) and iPhone (27%) – round out kids’ top three, with computers and other tablet brands each appealing to a quarter of younger consumers.

Many kids will also ask for gaming devices this year, with two products that offer unique gaming technologies – Nintendo 3DS (25%) and Kinect for Xbox 360 (23%) – leading the way. Given the 3DS’ spring 2011 release date and the surge in Kinect interest versus last year (up from 14%), parents can expect both devices to be frequently requested this holiday season. Beyond these, older Nintendo DS models continue to resonate with young gamers (22%), while the PlayStation 3 (17%) and Xbox 360 (16%) edge out the Nintendo Wii (11%) as the most desired gaming consoles.
