The Scenario Studio Los Angeles Pop-Up

For the past 12 years, Scenario has been hired by celebrities and Fortune-500 companies to produce elaborate private photo shoots at their parties and events. The only guests who were able to enjoy a Scenario photo shoot had to be connected to a celebrity or large company, but now, for the first time ever, the public is invited to join the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Kanye West, the Kardashians, and over 100 other celebrities who have experienced Scenario on set.

The Scenario Studio in Los Angeles is a preview pop-up event lasting only for 2 months, featuring an inaugural collection of full-scale, interactive photography sets designed by world famous photographer and set designer, John Ganun.

Each photo set uses cutting edge LED lighting equipment and techniques to allow guests to use their very own smart phone cameras to take pictures that look as good as the photos the Scenario team would normally take of celebrities using professional cameras and strobe lighting.

Now, for the first time ever, the “most expensive photo booth in the world” is available to the general public for the price of a museum ticket. While tickets last, everyone can come and experience the star treatment, at The Scenario Studio.

According to Apple, the Tower Theatre store will be one of the world’s most prominent Apple retail locations when it is completed, with the company planning to entirely overhaul the interior of the building to turn it into retail space and an interactive community area.

In a rendering shared by Apple, the Tower Theatre store preserves the ornate Renaissance Revival style of the interior of the theatre for an Apple Store that will indeed be one of the most unique. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Slated To Open In Los Angeles In 2018

The Ratkovich Company, in partnership with National Real Estate Advisors, Blue Vista Capital Management, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema today announced the Austin-based theater chain will open its first Los Angeles theater at The Bloc, a 1.8 million square foot mixed-use destination at the hub of the city’s retail, entertainment, financial, and sports center. Alamo Drafthouse Downtown is slated to open in 2018 as The Bloc completes its $180 million renovations bringing a vibrant, open-air, pedestrian-friendly, urban destination to Downtown Los Angeles.

“When we announced seven years ago that we would be embarking upon a plan of nationwide expansion, my primary goal was to open a theater in Los Angeles,” says Alamo Drafthouse Cinema founder and CEO Tim League.  “After many years of exhaustive searching and planning, we feel we have found the perfect home at The Bloc. Building a new audience for foreign language films, documentaries and independent movies is core to the Alamo brand, and this flagship theater will be ground zero for that effort.”

“Alamo Drafthouse is the perfect addition to The Bloc and to Downtown LA’s rapidly growing food and entertainment scene. It brings a fresh and unique take on the traditional movie-watching experience and will be a great compliment to the other retailers at The Bloc. The Bloc is a gathering place for all Angelenos, making it the place to be in Downtown LA.” said Wayne Ratkovich founder and president of The Ratkovich Company.

Alamo Drafthouse provides a unique cinematic experience with in-theater dining underpinning a heavily curated program of hand-picked blockbusters, highest-quality independent, foreign and documentary features and special event programming. It’s food and beverage offering is equally deliberate with a full menu offering food made from scratch and a heavy dose of the best local craft beers and cocktails. Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will be located on the second and third floors of the southwest corner of The Bloc, accessible from the Flower Street mid-block crossing and the fourth floor of the parking structure.

Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will have twelve screens and seat approximately 560 people for new release movies, independent, foreign and classic films, as well as an exhaustive slate of the Alamo’s unique signature event programming. Each of the auditoriums will be equipped with state of the art 4K digital projection and amazing sound.  In addition to providing superior presentation, the Alamo eliminates the traditional front rows to ensure there’s no bad seat in the house. The theater will also be equipped for 3D and archival 35mm projection.

In keeping with Alamo Drafthouse’s commitment to providing the best in-theater dining experience, the downtown LA destination will feature locally inspired and sourced food and drink. Moviegoers can order food and drinks from their seats while servers silently attend to them throughout the film. In addition to the twelve theaters, an adjoining bar will give fans the opportunity to discuss films over a plethora of local craft beers and cocktails.

Accessibility and integration with the city at large continues to be a priority for The Bloc and Alamo Drafthouse. Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will be conveniently accessed via the Blue, Expo, Purple and Red lines at the 7th Street Metro Center Station. Current Metro expansion connects Alamo Drafthouse Downtown to Santa Monica, Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley. The theater will offer four hours of free validated parking..

By delivering the best films, food and drinks, exceptional presentation, strict ad-free and no talking/no texting policies, Alamo Drafthouse strives to live up to Time Magazine’s claim of being the “Best Theater Ever.”

Scum & Villainy Cantina Celebrates May The Fourth By Extending Thru June

The Scum & Villainy Cantina, the popular pop-up intergalactic experience that has been virtually sold out for its initial two-month run, is extending its inaugural activation through June 2017, proprietor J.C. Reifenberg announced Monday night at the Hollywood establishment.

Starting on the beloved celebratory date of May the Fourth, fans can purchase tickets and reservations for the entire month of June. In addition, Reifenberg announced that all ticket purchases/reservations made on May 4, 2017 would be at the discounted rate of $40 (a $10 savings).

For the price of admission, guests receive two drinks of their choice from the Cantina’s specialty menu, a souvenir pint glass, an exclusive Scum & Villainy challenge coin, and nightly surprises around each corner. Themed food items are also available for purchase.

The June ticket and reservation sales will be available start May 4, 2017 at 10:00am PST via a new URL: https://scumandvillainycantina.eventbrite.com

New ticket reservations are limited, and admissions will be handled out on a first come, first served basis. In June, the Scum & Villainy Cantina will revise its days/hours of operation to Thursdays (one admission from 7:00-10:30pm), Fridays (two two-hour admissions), and Saturdays & Sundays (three two-hour admissions on each day). Fans should reference the Scum & Villainy Cantina Facebook page for walk-in availability (www.facebook.com/scumandvillainycantina).

In its first 26 days, the Scum & Villainy Cantina has transported thousands of fans into an immersive environment filled with food, drink, friends and some questionable characters from throughout the galaxy.

“We had a simple concept from the start – to provide devoted fans, like myself, the opportunity to gather in an environment that would inspire and delight. And the wonderfully positive reception for the Scum & Villainy Cantina has been very gratifying,” says Reifenberg. “Every night, it’s such fun to set the ball in motion, and then watch this amazing, enthusiastic clientele elevate the experience to new heights with great cosplay, crazy trivia competitions, impromptu conga lines and silly fanboy fun. We’re so happy we were able to extend our lease and continue this experience into summer.”

The Scum & Villainy Cantina will now also offer discounted ticket-and-merchandise packages. The admission-and-collectible-shirt ($55) and an admission-plus-collectible-shirt-and-hat ($65) are now available, and an all-new “June Scum Pass” ($200) entitles purchasers automatic entry, plus one guest, throughout the month of June during regular evening hours, Thursday through Sunday, even during sold out nights. The “June Scum Pass” also includes four souvenir glasses, but sales will be limited to a total of 40 for June.

Located at 6377 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, CA (near the corner of Hollywood Blvd. & Cahuenga Blvd.), the Scum & Villainy Cantina offers open seating to encourage patrons to meet new friends, strike up conversation, and maybe even find them a pilot to fly them off world.

Everyone is encouraged to access the Scum & Villainy Cantina official website and to “like” the official Facebook page for valid, up-to-date information.

Seinfeld’s Apartment Is Coming To Los Angeles

SienfeldApartment-TodSeelie-15

After a wildly popular run in New York back in June, Hulu is bringing their “Seinfeld: The Apartment” experience to Southern California just in time for Festivus. Aside from just recreating the iconic apartment, fans in New York were also given the opportunity to live out their Seinfeld fantasies, including a chaise lounge one can pose on à la George in “The Package”, or a shot at bursting through Jerry’s front door like Kramer—though we should advise you to be gentle with the set.

Hulu, which has every episode of the series available for streaming, promises “new and exciting items from the legendary series” for the Los Angeles edition, including a Festivus pole to get us into the holiday spirit. No tinsel, though: it’s very distracting. Other items on display back in June included Puddy’s New Jersey Devils jersey, the Frogger machine, and the Maestro’s wand.

“Seinfeld: The Apartment” will be on display and open to the public from Dec. 16 to Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 8445 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood. The installation will be free and open to the public.
