Comedian Louis C.K. just closed a production deal with FX to develop, write and direct new comedy pilots.
FX Productions announced the deal Tuesday with Louis C.K. and his production company Pig Newton. The deal is unrelated to the FX series Louie, which will return in May of 2014.
“Working with Louis C.K. has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my career,” said FX CEO John Landgraf said in a statement. “I am thrilled that our relationship with Louis and Blair Breard will continue for the foreseeable future through this deal with FXP. So many incredibly talented artists want to work with Louis and follow down the independent and idiosyncratic creative trail he has blazed. I can’t wait to see who he brings through our door, not to mention any new projects that he wants to create for us.”
Comedy superstar Louis C.K. makes his first appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone in the next issue. In the career-spanning Q&A, conducted by senior writer Brian Hiatt, C.K. talks frankly about the teenage drug abuse, onstage disasters and sexual misadventures that helped him become stand-up’s reigning genius.
Look for the issue on stands and in the iTunes App Store this Friday, April 12th, before C.K.’s latest comedy special premieres Saturday on HBO.
