The BFG Comes To Digital HD, Blu-ray & Disney Movies Anywhere December 6, 2016

null

This month, the world celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Roald Dahl, beloved children’s author of family favorites like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda and Dahl’s personal favorite, The BFG, as well as World Dream Day, an annual event honoring “the dreamer, visionary and innovator in all of us.” It seems a fitting time to announce the in-home release of The BFG, Disney’s fantasy adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, on December 6, 2016 on Digital HD, Blu-ray, Disney Movies Anywhere, DVD and On-Demand.

The BFG unites the talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – to bring to life the classic tale of a courageous little girl named Sophie (newcomer Ruby Barnhill) and a gentle and charming Big Friendly Giant (Oscar-winner Mark Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. Spielberg employs a new, hybrid style of filmmaking blending live-action and performance-capture techniques, resulting in genuine, heartfelt performances and super-photorealistic animation.

Families and fans will be swept away by this spectacular adventure and delight in extensive bonus features, including a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The BFG hosted by Ruby Barnhill and featuring Steven Spielberg; a charming, all-new short; a fun and whimsical tutorial on the Big Friendly Giant’s unique language of Gobblefunk; a touching tribute to screenwriter Melissa Mathison (E.T. the Extraterrestrial, The Black Stallion); and more.

Spielberg’s directorial debut with The Walt Disney Studios was a labor of love, as he’s been a fan of Dahl’s for years. In fact, he read The BFG to his own children when they were younger. According to Spielberg, “It’s a story about friendship; it’s a story about loyalty and protecting your friends; and it’s a story that shows that even a little girl can help a big giant solve his biggest problems.” The BFG is a Golden Phizzwizard come true for Spielberg, Dahl fans and audiences around the world.

Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.

First Look At The New Pennywise From Stephen King’s IT

1

Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first official look at Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Stephen King’s IT.

“It’s such an extreme character. Inhumane,” Skarsgård tells the outlet. “It’s beyond even a sociopath, because he’s not even human. He’s not even a clown. I’m playing just one of the beings It creates…It truly enjoys the shape of the clown Pennywise, and enjoys the game and the hunt. What’s funny to this evil entity might not be funny to everyone else. But he thinks it’s funny.”

EW also reports that the events of the film will be moved upward from the source material, which was set in both the 1950s and 1980s, and will be set in the present day with the late 1980s as the past setting.

Mama director Andy Muschietti will direct the film which will feature Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special) as Bill Denbrough, Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) as Richie Tozier, newcomer Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween) as Stan Uris, Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs (“Hawaii Five-0”) as Mike Hanlon and Jeremy Ray Taylor (42) as Ben Hanscom, the younger versions of the story’s protagonists.

Based on the novel by Stephen King, the film’s story recalls a promise made twenty-eight years ago that forces seven adults to reunite in Derry, Maine, where as teenagers they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Unsure that their Losers Club had vanquished the creature all those years ago, the seven had vowed to return to Derry if IT should ever reappear. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that summer return as they prepare to do battle with the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers once more.

The film is set to be released in two parts with Part One focusing on the group of teens called the Losers Club, while Part Two is set around the repercussions on these characters as adults. Stephen King’s IT Part One will be released on September 8, 2017.

The remake is being produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg.

IT was previously adapted into a television miniseries in 1990 from director Tommy Lee Wallace and featured Tim Curry’s iconic performance as the title character. The feature film remake has been in-development for some time and was previously going to be directed by auteur Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation, True Detective) with the young English actor Will Poulter (We’re the Millers, The Maze Runner) originally cast as Pennywise.

Dark Hall Mansion To Release Superman Print By Matt Ferguson On May 13, 2016

Dark Hall Mansion is pleased to reveal its latest officially licensed limited edition print release in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Entertainment, 1978’s, “Superman” by contemporary artist Matt Ferguson and available this Friday, May 13th!

Dark Hall Mansion will release Matt Ferguson’s classically styled and dynamic limited edition print for one of his favorite films, 1978’s “Superman.” Matt was quite keen from the start as to exactly how he envisioned his Superman piece and precisely what scene he wished to render. Matt’s artwork captures not only a key moment within the film itself but one that encompasses several classic Superman fan elements that have shaped the man of steel’s legacy since its first incarnation in 1933. Matt’s sharp blue-hued Standard edition “Superman” print is elegantly bordered with Art Deco stylings that harken to film elements while powerfully framing the central imagery as Superman comes to the rescue of his beloved Lois Lane, along with more than just a few ill placed citizens down below. Matt’s Variant “Superman” print is a heavy contrast piece with vintage overtones that gracefully counterpoints his Standard edition. The striking “Superman” foil editions perfectly compliment the Man of Steel’s thematic and creates an arresting print with the foil substrate heavily revealing itself in various areas of DHM’s most select edition.

All officially licensed Dark Hall Mansion limited edition “Superman” prints go on sale this Friday, May 13th, at 12:30 PM PST on the dedicated store page here: http://www.darkhallmansionstore.com
