The issue is described as follows:

Just when she thought her troubles were over, Wonder Woman is thrust into a new adventure that takes her out of this world! Princess Maxima, the former ruler of the planet Almerac, has crash-landed on our hero’s doorstep and is desperate for her help. Maxima’s people are victims of a vicious lie, and only the truth she’s discovered will set them free. With Wonder Woman by her side, can she retake her throne and bring back the planet’s peaceful matriarchal society? Back on Earth, there is no peace…only Warmaster! The vengeful villainess has obtained a weapon of mass destruction that can wipe out the Amazons for good!

Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child Deluxe Edition

It’s been three years since the events of Dark Knight III: The Master Race. Lara has spent the time learning to be more human, and Carrie Kelley has been growing into her new role as Batwoman. But a terrifying evil has returned to Gotham City, and Lara and Carrie must team up to stop this growing threat–and they have a secret weapon. Young Jonathan Kent, “the golden child,” has a power inside of him unlike anything the world has ever seen, and it’s about to be unleashed…

Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child is Frank Miller’s triumphant return to the world of the Dark Knight and joining him is the superstar artist Rafael Grampá, the mastermind behind the groundbreaking Mesmo Delivery. Following work in advertising and film, this incredible collaboration marks Grampá’s first comics work in six years, bringing his extraordinary detail and storytelling to the Dark Knight saga, resulting in a Dark Knight story like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

Pre-order the 96 page hardcover book HERE. It will be released on June 16, 2020.

First Look At Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child

Frank Miller’s epic story began with The Dark Knight Returns, continued in The Dark Knight Strikes Again, and welcomed a new generation of hero in Dark Knight III: Master Race. Now Miller is teaming with artists Rafael Grampá and Jordie Bellaire to deliver a brand new installment for The Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child arriving this week in comic shops.

Set three years after the conclusion of Master Race, the 48-page one-shot picks up after Lara has had some time to learn about humanity, and for Jonathan to grow from a baby into a child. In the same time, Carrie has matured to tackle Gotham’s less manageable problems.

Fans can get their first look at the story below.

Dark Knight III #6 Variant Cover By Rafael Grampá

image-1

I have been a huge fan of Rafael Grampá’s comic book artistry for years and he did not disappoint on his variant cover for The Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 6. Rafael paid homage to Frank Miller on the cover featuring a grizzled aged Batman and his new young sidekick, Carrie Kelly AKA Robin.

The issue will go on sale October 19, 2016.

Comic Book Artist Rafael Grampá Offers 10 Commissioned Art Pieces For Facebook Followers

On March 6, 2013 Rafael Grampá reached out to his Facebook followers with a very unique offer.

The Brazilian comic book artist decided to open his first commission list, allowing 10 lucky people to choose their favorite super hero/heroes for Grampá to render in his unique detailed style.

The result would be ten one of a kind drawings inked over pencils on 11×17 strathmore paper finished with Grampá’s distinctive “character head” signature.

The cost of the art piece was dependent on how many figures Rafael drew. A full body, single figure cost $1,000, two characters $1,800 and three characters $2,400.

Smart fans, savvy art collectors and shrewd investors immediately seized the rare opportunity to own an original piece by Grampá considering that the illustrator doesn’t sell any of his original work.

Within hours the ten spots on the list were full. Below are the commissioned drawings plus a couple of bonus pieces. Congratulations to the fortunate owners and hopefully time permitting Rafael will continue with more commissions!

Ironman, Captain America and Spiderman

Here is Rafael’s second commission – Batman emerges from the smoke, cape billowing, grappling gun in hand ready to take on an unseen assailant!  Apparently Rafael liked the rendering so much, he had a hard time parting with it. I love the details of the gloves, boots, gun and cape. The smoke provides an element of mystery and danger. Thank you Rafael, for doing such an amazing job. I will cherish this forever!

Yes, I am the lucky owner of commission # 2 and I feel like Charlie must have felt after he found the golden ticket in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.

Comic Con Experience Announced For December 2014 In Sao Paulo, Brazil

Comic Con Experience - São Paulo Brazil

Comic Con Experience is the first show in Brazil covering all the main areas of pop culture: comics, TV, movies, games, cosplay, fantasy and sci-fi literature, collectibles, etc. The show is scheduled for December 4-7, 2014 in São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world and the economic capital of Brazil.

Set in a 20,000 square-meter pavilion, the show is expected to gather around 80,000 attendees over 4 days to celebrate pop culture.

As comic cons started as events organized by comic book fans, the Comic Con Experience announced his comic guests first, including: Scott Snyder, Ivan Reis, Sean Gordon Murphy, Rafael Grampá, Rafael Albuquerque, Olivier Coipel, Klaus Janson, Greg Tocchini, Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá. Several others are yet to be announced, including TV and movie talents.

Comic Con Experience is organized by Omelete the biggest pop culture and entertainment website in Brazil, and by Chiaroscuro Studios, a talent agency representing several top talents in the comics industry.

Brazilian fans and exhibitors couldn’t be more excited about the show. Due to the high demand, the organization has increased 33% percent of the area (from the initial 15,000 square-meter area) to meet the demand from both fans and exhibitors. Since the Comic Con Experience was announcement in an article published in the country’s main weekly magazine in January 25st, the show’s fanpage on Facebook has gathered over 50,000 fans and the organization has been approached by major entertainment companies from different countries targeting the Brazilian audience: Brazil is the fourth biggest market for games with 35 million gamers and among the top 5 markets for American movies.
