Superman #28 Variant Cover By Rafael Grampá

One of my favorite artists working in comics today is Rafael Grampá. The talented Brazilian illustrator created this variant cover for Superman #28 which will be released on December 22. I love how the Man of Steel’s cape and the diagonal lines on the bottom of the cover form Superman’s iconic insignia!

Here is some more info on the issue:

The powerhouse creative team of Brian Michael Bendis, John Romita Jr., and Klaus Janson wrap up their run on Action Comics with “House of Kent: Epilogue”! With the final fate of Metropolis’s underworld revealed at last, it’s time for each member of the House of Kent to face their unknown futures head on, including Lois, Conner, Jon, Kara, Jimmy, and, of course, Clark Kent! Heritage Auction To Auction The Classic Variant Cover From Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child By Rafael Grampá

“The Golden Child” is Frank Miller’s triumphant return to the world of the Dark Knight, along with superstar artist Rafael Grampá, the mastermind behind the groundbreaking “Mesmo Delivery.”

This “The Future is Young” Rafael Grampá Dark Knight Returns: Golden Child Variant Cover original art cover shows the older, and former Robin, Carrie Kelley, as the current Batwoman. Carrie was created by Miller in his Dark Knight Returns run, and stands among the few who are credited with saving Batman’s life.

On November 26, 2019, DC Comics posted the promotional artwork for this series on their social media, where you can see Batwoman throwing a Molotov cocktail, mixed with the phrase “The Future Is Young”. But as soon as it was released, the publisher decided to delete the promo, and in a movement of revolt against possible censorship by China, protesters in Hong Kong adopted the art as a symbol of the protests. The controversy took on worldwide proportions and this art created by Grampá became featured in The GuardianNewsweekBusiness InsiderEntertainment Weekly, New York Post, Rolling Stone, and in hundreds of other vehicles around the planet.

Artist Rafael Grampá Discusses His Latest Batman Statue

One of DC’s most internationally renowned artists, Rafael Grampá has inspired many others through his stylized art and design…including the team at DC Direct, who have produced several statues based on his art.

This year, DC Direct is going bigger and bolder than ever before when it comes to Grampá’s work, releasing one of their largest DC Designer series statues based on his art.

Inspired by his original design for a Batman: Black & White statue, the DC Designer Series: Batman by Rafael Grampá Statue is a 1:6-scale Designer Series piece that features Grampá’s sword-wielding design in full color for the first time. The larger size and vivid color palette unlock greater detail in Grampá’s statue, making for a phenomenal collectible that’s a must-have for any Batman fan.

Frank Miller’s epic story began with The Dark Knight Returns, continued in The Dark Knight Strikes Again, and welcomed a new generation of hero in Dark Knight III: Master Race. Now Miller is teaming with artists Rafael Grampá and Jordie Bellaire to deliver a brand new installment for The Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child arriving this week in comic shops.

Set three years after the conclusion of Master Race, the 48-page one-shot picks up after Lara has had some time to learn about humanity, and for Jonathan to grow from a baby into a child. In the same time, Carrie has matured to tackle Gotham’s less manageable problems.
