Watch The Boys Teaser Trailer

Based on the comic book series written by Garth Ennis and co-created, designed and illustrated by Darick Robertson, The Boys was originally published by Wildstorm before moving to Dynamite Entertainment.

In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “The Boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than their blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.

The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes.

Helmed by Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg and starring Elisabeth Shue, Karl Urban, Jennifer Esposito, Jack Quaid, Colby Minifie, Jess Salgueiro, Brittany Allen, and Bruce Novakowski, The Boys is coming to Amazon Prime in the summer of 2019.

James Gandolfini’s Son, Michael Gandolfini Will Play Young Tony Soprano in Sopranos Prequel Film, The Many Saints of Newark

Sopranos creator David Chase is moving forward with The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel movie set in the ’60s. Tony Soprano’s father, Johnny Soprano, will have a big role in the film, and so will Tony himself. James Gandolfini made a career defining turn as Tony Soprano, and now his son, Michael Gandolfini, will follow in his footsteps as a younger Tony Soprano.

David Chase and director Alan Taylor had an extensive audition process before settling on Michael Gandolfini. In addition to his strong resemblance to his father, Michael Gandolfini’s “screen presence, mastery of Tony’s mannerisms,” and his insight into the character made him the final choice. Gandolfini has previously appeared in HBO’s The Deuce.

Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Billy Magnussen, and Corey Stoll will also star in the film. Nivola will play Dickie Moltisanti, Tony’s mentor, and the father of Christopher Molisanti on the show.

Happy Season 2 Returns To SYFY On March 27, 2009

SYFY has released the first trailer for Happy! Season 2, and it looks about as insane as you’d expect!

Weird Al Yankovic is just the latest guest star to join Happy! Season 2, joining the likes of Ann-Margret and wrestler Big Show.

Based on the New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name, Happy! follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt). In the must-see finale, Sax and Happy are locked in a climatic confrontation to rescue Hailey (Bryce Lorenzo) from Very Bad Santa’s (Joseph Reitman) lair, as Merry (Lili Mirojnick) sets out to save Amanda (Medina Senghore) from a far more powerful foe. The series also stars Ritchie Coster (Blue) and Patrick Fischler (Smoothie).

The series returns March 27.

Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds: The First Official Stranger Things Novel

A mysterious lab. A sinister scientist. A secret history. If you think you know the truth behind Eleven’s mother, prepare to have your mind turned Upside Down in this thrilling prequel to the hit show Stranger Things.

It’s the summer of 1969, and the shock of conflict reverberates through the youth of America, both at home and abroad. As a student at a quiet college campus in the heartland of Indiana, Terry Ives couldn’t be farther from the front lines of Vietnam or the incendiary protests in Washington.

But the world is changing, and Terry isn’t content to watch from the sidelines. When word gets around about an important government experiment in the small town of Hawkins, she signs on as a test subject for the project, code-named MKULTRA. Unmarked vans, a remote lab deep in the woods, mind-altering substances administered by tight-lipped researchers . . . and a mystery the young and restless Terry is determined to uncover.

But behind the walls of Hawkins National Laboratory—and the piercing gaze of its director, Dr. Martin Brenner—lurks a conspiracy greater than Terry could have ever imagined. To face it, she’ll need the help of her fellow test subjects, including one so mysterious the world doesn’t know she exists—a young girl with unexplainable superhuman powers and a number instead of a name: 008.

Amid the rising tensions of the new decade, Terry Ives and Martin Brenner have begun a different kind of war—one where the human mind is the battlefield.

Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds: The first Official Stranger Things Novel by Gwenda Bond will be released on February 5, 2019 and can be ordered HERE.

The CW Orders Batwoman Pilot

After making her debut in the latest Arrowverse crossover, Elseworlds, The CW is officially moving forward with a Batwoman solo series by ordering a pilot for the hero.

The network ordered a development for the series last summer with Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) penning the pilot, while she, Sarah Schecter (Riverdale), Geoff Johns (Aquaman) and Greg Berlanti (The Flash) will executive produce the project.

The official synopsis for the pilot reads as follows: “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Batwoman made her live-action debut with her appearance in the Elseworlds crossover portrayed by John Wick: Chapter 2‘s Ruby Rose and was often singled out amongst the positive reviews for the crossover for her introduction and performance.

“Our goal was trying to create set ups, story-wise where we could meet her, kind of be intrigued by her, introduce Gotham a little bit,” Caroline Dries, who is penning “Batwoman,” said during a Q&A session last month at the network’s Burbank offices.

The pilot will be directed by The Flash alum David Nutter and if ordered to series will join the five other DC Comics series currently on the air for the network, including Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning.
