Watch The Hollywood Trailer

A new limited series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, Hollywood follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. 

Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day.  Provocative and incisive, Hollywood exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled. 

Hollywood stars David Corenswet as Jack, Darren Criss as Raymond, Jeremy Pope as Archie, Laura Harrier as Camille, Samara Weaving as Claire, Dylan McDermott as Ernie, Holland Taylor as Ellen Kincaid, Patti LuPone as Avis, Jim Parsons as Henry Willson, Jake Picking as Rock Hudson, Joe Mantello as Dick, and Maude Apatow as Henrietta.

Hollywood will premiere on Netflix May 1.

Watch The Valley Girl Trailer

Orion Pictures has revealed the official trailer for director Rachel Lee Goldenberg’s upcoming comedy musical remake of Valley Girl, starring Happy Death Day’s Jessica Rothe and Josh Whitehouse. Originally set to be released in theaters over a year ago on June 2018, the film is now scheduled to make its debut on Digital on Friday, May 8.

Julie (Jessica Rothe) is the ultimate ’80s Valley Girl. A creative free spirit; Julie’s time is spent with her best friends shopping at the Galleria mall and making plans for senior prom. That is, until she falls hard for Randy (Joshua Whitehouse), a Sunset Strip punk rocker, who challenges everything the Valley and Julie stand for. Despite push-back from friends and family, Julie must break out of the safety of her world to follow her heart and discover what it really means to be a Valley Girl.

Set to a rock ‘n roll ’80s soundtrack produced by legendary Harvey Mason, Jr. with dance numbers by choreographer Mandy Moore, Valley Girl is a musical adaptation of the classic 1983 hit film that changed American teenage life forever.

The film stars Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, La La Land) as Julie Richman, Josh Whitehouse (The Knight Before Christmas) as Randy, Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) as Karen, Logan Paul (The Thinning) as Mickey, Jessie Ennis (Mystic Quest: Raven’s Banquet) as Stacey, Ashleigh Murray (Riverdale) as Loryn, and Mae Whitman (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World). It will also feature Clueless alum Alicia Silverstone as the adult version of Julie along with Tony Revolori, Rob Huebel, Judy Greer, Camila Morrone, Peyton List and Danny Ramirez.

Valley Girl remake is directed by Emmy winner Rachel Lee Goldenberg (A Deadly Adoption, Between Two Ferns) from a screenplay written by Amy Talkington and story by Andrew Lane and Wayne Crawford. It is produced by Matt Smith and Steven J. Wolfe.

Watch The Prop Culture Trailer 

On May 1 Prop Culture will debut on Disney+.

You’ll see some of Disney’s most well-loved feature films represented in the first season, including: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Mary Poppins, Tron, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Muppet Movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Disney opened their “vault” to Dan Lanigan and the Prop Culture crew for the program. Disney regularly exhibits these special pieces in museums and at special events, but when they are not on view these iconic treasures are carefully preserved and safeguarded deep inside the Archives. Being able to pull out these props, costumes, and works of art to share with Dan and the designers, directors, producers and actors who first created and used them was an opportunity that was not to be missed. Dan is a passionate collector who knows a great deal about the history of his favorite film props and costumes.

The audience will hear the firsthand stories of the filmmakers who created these objects and their history. They will witness the joy of the designers and actors as they are reunited with these objects.

Watch The Teaser Trailer For Hulu’s Solar Opposites

Co-created by Justin Roiland (co-creator of Ricky and Morty) and Mike McMahan (former head writer of Rick and Morty), Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who have escaped their exploding home world, only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambroni) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty, while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.

Solar Opposites is executive produced by Roiland, McMahan and Josh Bycel. The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Series regulars include Justin Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, Mary Mack, and Sean Giambrone.

Premieres on Hulu May 8, 2020.

Watch The Willoughbys Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for director Kris Pearn’s forthcoming animated film adaptation of The Willoughbys, featuring the titular children as they scheme a way to send their terrible parents away. The movie is based on the acclaimed book by Newberry Award-winning author Lois Lowry. 

In The Willoughbys, convinced they’d be better off raising themselves, the Willoughby children hatch a sneaky plan to send their selfish parents on vacation. The four siblings then embark on their own high-flying adventure to learn how to adapt their old-fashioned values to the contemporary world as they try to find the true meaning of family.

The film will feature the voices of Grammy nominee Alessia Cara as Jane, Will Forte (Scoob!) as Tim, Vincent Tong (Sausage Party) as the Barnabys, Ricky Gervais (The Little Prince) as Cat, Maya Rudolph (Big Hero 6, Connected) as Nanny, Terry Crews (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2) as Comander Melanoff, Martin Short (Frankenweenie) as Father and Jane Krakowski (Open Season) as Mother.

The film will be available for streaming on Netflix April 22.

Watch The Upload Trailer

From Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) comes Upload, a new sci-fi comedy.

Upload focuses on an app developer named Nathan (Robbie Amell) who has been in a horrific accident and in this future world needs to choose between surgery and dying, only to have his consciousness “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife.

Nathan chooses the latter and is placed in a fantasy world where he has everything at his disposal, from the ability to own a talking dog to eating anything he wants … as long as he has the money for an in-app purchase. 

The series will follow Nathan as he gets used to living in the ritzy afterlife community of “Lakeside,” where his girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) and her family have purchased space. He also has to contend with a burgeoning relationship with a customer support representative named Nora (Andy Allo), who develops feelings for the newly deceased man.

All 10 episodes of “Upload” will be available on Amazon Prime starting May 1.

Check out the new trailer from Disney and Pixar’s all-new original feature film “Soul,” which opens in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2020.

Joe Gardner is a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22, who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.

 

Featuring the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Angela Bassett, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Daveed Diggs, “Soul” is directed by Academy Award winner Pete Docter (“Inside Out,” “Up”), co-directed by Kemp Powers (“One Night in Miami”) and produced by Academy Award nominee Dana Murray (Pixar short “Lou”). Globally renowned musician Jon Batiste will be writing original jazz music for the film, and Oscar-winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (“The Social Network”), from Nine Inch Nails, will compose an original score that will drift between the real and soul worlds.

Watch The Black Widow Final Trailer 

Marvel Studios has released the final trailer for Cate Shortland’s highly-anticipated MCU film Black Widow, featuring lots of new footage that highlights chemistry and teamwork between Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. 

Scarlett Johansson returns as Natasha Romanoff, a spy and assassin who grew up being trained by the KGB before breaking from their grasp and becoming an agent of SHIELD and an Avenger. The film is expected to be set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, but before Avengers: Infinity War.

Black Widow will also feature a star-studded cast including Golden Globe nominee David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy) as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Florence Pugh (Fighting with My Family) as Yelena Belova, Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) as Melina and O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Mason.

The movie is being directed by Cate Shortland (Lore) from a script written by Jac Schaeffer (The Hustle) and will open in theaters on May 1, 2020.
