E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Print By John Alvin

We are thrilled to announce the partnership of ISH x Bottleneck Gallery x Vice Press with Andrea Alvin and the John Alvin Estate.  John Alvin’s legendary career is unmatched in cinema illustration / design as he created art and theatrical posters for legendary films like Gremlins, Blade Runner and E.T..

Each poster released in the John Alvin series will be sourced from original art and files from John’s archive and will be approved, not only by the studio, but by Andrea Alvin with a signed and embossed certificate.

Up first is E.T…. one of the most successful films of all time and beloved by the world over. The classic original theatrical poster was created by John Alvin and nobody had any idea of the impact it would cause! Seemingly everywhere today, this image was painted by John using very little reference from the actual film as the studio wanted to keep E.T. hidden prior to the film’s release.

The print will be available as a timed-edition release, alongside a limited variant, from Thursday (April 18) at 12PM EST through Monday (April 22) at 12PM ET at bottleneckgallery.com as well as on Vice-Press.com at 5PM GMT.

Vice Press Announce 2000 AD Licensing Agreement With Rebellion

4be92954-cd4b-4ac0-b8df-2a4e1860c241

Vice Press are proud to announce their licensing agreement with Rebellion for an ongoing series of limited edition, original art and screen-printed posters featuring characters and titles from the pages of the galaxy’s greatest comic, 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Megazine. Characters such as Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Rogue Trooper and many more will be faithfully rendered in limited edition, collectible pieces of artwork by some of the best artists, designers and illustrators working today. Each art print will be available in a very limited edition directly from Vice Press.

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of 2000 AD in 2017, Vice Press will also be releasing in a limited edition art book featuring reproductions of much of the artwork released.

James Henshaw, Commercial Director Vice Press said, “As long as I have been able to read, 2000 AD has been a huge part of my life. The characters and stories featured in its pages were what introduced me to not only comics but also a broad variety of artists and creatives. I am immensely proud that Vice Press will be celebrating 2000 AD’s great legacy with our art and screen prints.”

Matt Ferguson, Creative Director vice Press said “2000 AD is hugely important to me, reading the comics as a child and then again as an adult they are something I go back to time after time. For me those comics are right up there in terms of the impact and influence they have had on pop culture. Not just because of the amazing characters and stories but also because of the talent that came from the publications early days, John Wagner, Pat Mills, Alan Grant, Ian Gibson, Mike McMahon, Carlos Ezquerra, Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, and Simon Bisley… the list is endless. I am really excited about hopefully adding to that list with some of the art we put out through Vice Press.”

Vice Press will be start to release artwork from the series from June 2015.
