Watch The Logan Trailer

1

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for the upcoming third Wolverine film, simply titled Logan. The Wolverine director James Mangold is back behind the camera for Hugh Jackman’s final turn as the character.

Starring Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart, Logan is coming to theaters on March 3, 2017. The new film will mark the ninth time that Hugh Jackman has played the character on the big screen. Mangold is directing from a script by David James Kelly.

Mister Sinister and his “Essex Corp” were previously said to be the villain(s) of the film, with rumors pointing toward Richard E. Grant playing the villain, though it remains unconfirmed. We know that the primary villains for the film will include both The Reavers, lead by Boyd Holbrook’s Donald Pierce, as well as Wolverine’s favorite group, Weapon X. It stands to reason that Sinister’s role in the film will be tied to the creation of X-23, the young female clone of Wolverine also along for the film’s road trip.

The cast for Logan also includes Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez.

Hugh Jackman Reveals Wolverine Teaser Image

Following its debut during 20th Century’s Fox feature film presentation at Comic-Con International, early teaser art for the upcoming Untitled Wolverine Sequel has now officially been released by none other than Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. The Academy Award nominee tweeted the design along with the request that fans tweet him back with the hashtag #OneLastTime and explain what they want to see from his final big screen appearance as the Marvel Comics character.

“My last time putting on the claws,” Jackman reiterates in his post. “What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I’ll read as many as I can.”

Although it’s far from confirmed, Jackman hinted during the panel earlier this month that Mark Millar and Steven McNiven’s popular “Old Man Logan” storyline may very well factor into the new film. To be directed by James Mangold (who, in addition to helming The Wolverine, worked with Jackman on Kate & Leopold), the new film is penned by David James Kelly. It will arrive in theaters March 3, 2017, following the 2016 X-Men universe films Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit, arriving February 15, May 27 and October 7, respectively.

Entertainment Weekly’s Summer 2013 Calendar Issue Features Hugh Jackman As Wolverine On The Cover

Hugh Jackman will return for his sixth appearance on the big screen as Logan this summer in The Wolverine and in preparation for the film, he will appear on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s “Summer 2013 Calendar” issue. The magazine also spoke with him about working on this film as compared to his first solo effort, which didn’t get the reception he had hoped for.

“Somehow the first Wolverine movie ended up looking like the fourth X-Men – just with different characters,” Jackman said. “I left unsure if we’d achieve our goal, which was to make sure people understood my character. This movie will really get to his core.”

The magazine will be available this Friday.
