Anthony Mackie has closed a deal to carry the shield and star in the yet to be titled Captain America 4.
The film is being scripted by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer and creator Malcolm Spellman, along with series staff writer Dalan Musson. A director hasn’t been set for the project.
On the finale episode of Disney+’s “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” Mackie’s Sam Wilson (The Falcon) – a Marvel Cinematic Universe regular since 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” took over the mantle from Chris Evans and became Captain America.
I was always wondering how a guy who’s not a super soldier could ever compare with Chris Evans’ Cap but now I think a regular guy with extraordinary tools and combat medic training is actually way more interesting. F&TWS was pretty flawed but it did a great job in selling his character where the previous films generally made him comic relief and a poor man’s Tony Stark.
